HEIDI-MARIE

BLACKWELL

In 1971 I had declared my major at the University of Washington to be Graphic Design, though by the time I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design, I had enough credits to have declared a second major in Drawing and Painting. And quite a few credits in Printmaking, Photography, Metalwork, Pottery, Art History, Stained Glass, oh my! And I had a part-time job as assistant to the Art Director at University of Washington Press, publisher.

One of my design professors stopped me once and said, "If you spread your interests too wide, you will not be really good in any."

I explained things to myself and agreed that wide interests may pay off down the line.

So here we are down the line and, of course, I learned how to make websites and built this one.

I believe I had much more fun to have spread out my interests all these years. And in the not-so-distant future, I will be announcing my first book to be published by Blackwell Studios Books...took me twenty two years so far to write it and it's done...as soon as I figure out how to print books on demand.
