Fleurdeliser
Adorned with Lilies
Created 1981
I was in love with the symbol fleur de lis. So French.
Fleurdeliser is an actual verb
in French. It means to be decorated with fleur de lis.
Wish I could remember where in Paris this pattern was found.
I met my husband on this trip to Paris. He soon told me he was a Bonarpartist and that I needed to know what the fleur de lis represents, since I seemed so intrigued. He told me Napoléon made his logo of the bee (head up orientation) in a wreath. The bee appears as an upside down fleur de lis. A little tongue in cheek. The royalty is turned upside down. But I don't have the nerve to wear my fleur de lis pins upside down here. But I do in the States.
